Letterman 1.2.4 RC1 Released |
We have added the RC1 rlease of Letterman 1.2.4 today in our downloads section. We would appreciate help in testings and so we are calling on people to run it on Joomla! 1.0.11+ and report back any major issues. If you do find a problem could you please report it in the Bugtracker.
This release includes the last of Soren's work on the component and will be the last for the Joomla! 1.0.x stream. Next release will be for Joomla! 1.5 only.

Letterman comes to The J! Factory |
Responding to a suggestion from a user of our extensions I aproached Soren at Virtuemart about taking on development of his wonderful Letterman Extension for Joomla!. Soren agreed and so its with much pleasure that I can announce that we will be taking over development effective immediately. Our plan is to maintain support for the current release, but all further development will be strictly for usage with the forthcoming Joomla! 1.5. The reasoning is that Joomla! 1.5 simply provides a much better platform for extending Letterman's capabilities. Our roadmap is still a draft, but a rough idea would be as follows... | Release | Date(est.) | Tasks | | 2.0.0 | 01/03/2007 | Conversion to run in Joomla! 1.5 without Legacy support. | | 2.1.0 | 01/06/2007 | Multiple Newletter capabilities. Enhanced Community Builder integration AJAX subscription module. Newletter Templates - ability to create a save base templates for later use. Inclusion of optional captcha for non-registered front end subscriptions. Inclusion of optional validation of email address for non-registered subscriptions. Joomla! section/category based newletters... essentially section or category based newletters. | | 2.2.0 | | TBA | It is our intention to make Letterman a commercial grade (but GPL licensed) newletter extension. To this end we would like to create a Letterman Team. Of most help would be developers and writers for documentation. If your inteterested in making this a reality please drop us a line.
