Configuration of J!oogle is a simple process. There is only one neccessity and that is a Google account and key. Neither costs anything and allow up to 1000 searches per day through the Google Search system.
Available Settings
Google Key
- The Google key is the one requirement for utilising J!oogle. To get a key you must first register for a free Google Account, then you will be able to get a key. Enter the Google supplied key in this field. Unless you wish to change some of the default settings J!oogle is now ready to operate. Simply create a link in one of you menu's and your up and running.
Advanced Search Available- When set to "No", this setting removes fontside access to the advanced search fields. This could be used to enforce your custom settings which would still be used despite the access to Advanced search being disabled for the frontend.
Filter- When set to yes, duplicate matches from the same web page or document are removed. Generally this is best set to "Yes".
SafeSearch- When set to "Yes",Googles safSearch filter will be applied. This prevents adult material from being returned in the results.
FileType Filter- Allows Doc's and PDF's to be set for results. Select all to remove any restrictions.
Scope- Allows the specification of the search terms location when with in a site.
Site- Restrictsresults to those that match the entered URL. For example entering joomla.org would restrict the search to results from the Joomla! websites.
Language- This is not a language setting for J!oogle but for the returned results.
